MCCANN RIFLE COMPANY has very reluctantly made the decision to discontinue barreling services. I can no longer blue without a manufacturers license, as BATF&E has defined bluing, parkerising and color case hardening, along with numerous other gunsmithing operations, as manufacturing processes. This means that while I can still barrel a
customer-supplied action, I cannot blue that barrel without changing my FFL to a manufacturing category, or passing the bluing process to someone licensed for it. I would rather discontinue barreling than to loose control of any part of the process. Should "The ATF Reform Act" ever make it out of committee in Congress and become law I will once again offer complete services. Thanks to those of you who have allowed me to do barreling for you in the past. |
